INDIANA LIVE CASINO TO MATCH PLAYERS’ MONETARY DONATIONS TO TOYS FOR TOTS CAMPAIGN UP TO $10,000
SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Friday, Dec. 5, 2008) – This holiday season, Indiana Live Casino and its customers will team up to make the holidays brighter for less-fortunate children touched by the Marine Corp. Toys for Tots campaign.
An oversized Toys for Tots donation box has been established in the front lobby of Indiana Live Casino in Shelbyville and players are asked to donate residual winnings – or any amount they choose – to the campaign. In turn, Indiana Live Casino will match player donations to Toys for Tots up to $10,000.
“The Indiana Live Casino family believes it is extremely important to be involved in the community and selected to back the Marine Corp. Toys for Tots program this holiday season to support deserving children and the overall military initiative,” said Mark Hemmerle, general manager of Indiana Live Casino.
Casino executives will present the Marine Corp. Toys for Tots with the financial contribution on Dec. 19 at Indiana Live Casino.
The donation will be the second large financial contribution that Indiana Live Casino has made to charity since opening on June 9. In late June, the casino donated $20,000 to the American Red Cross to help Hoosiers victimized by springtime flooding and severe storms.
Indiana Live Casino features more than 1,900 high-tech slot machines and electronic table games and an eatery catered by renowned chef Wolfgang Puck. In early 2009, the casino’s permanent 233,000-square-foot facility will open adjacent to Indiana Downs and feature nationally renowned restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
